Summer Possum

Mel, here, reporting for my near-monthly-sometimes-more-often-uselessly-less update! My life is about as dull as it's always been, but there have been a great number of things I've been meaning to post about. (Granted, I don't recall what most of them are, but neh.) A good number of them involve the posting of pictures and since I haven't gotten around to moving said pictures from my camera to my computer, I'll just write something that may be of interest for now.

Summer break is in full swing. Summer semester passed so quickly, it almost made my head spin (or maybe that's just a side affect of putting off all my huge assignments until almost the end?). Somehow, I survived, though, I must confess that I don't think I performed as well as I could have. I'll have to do better come this fall. (But, honestly, how do you ever get a procrastinator to get around to not procrastinating anymore? It's like pulling hen's teeth, I tell you!) It's rather nice not to have to worry about clinicals or classes or anything like that.

At current, I'm taking part in playing my own version of "possum". Namely, I have PTO until the 24th because I'd gone over to visit my folks while they're in Indiana, but I've been back and perfectly capable of working since Friday. Like I said. I'm playing possum - clearly the result of despising one's job - don't tell my boss or she'll put me to work...

Indiana was alright. It was good to see my parents and meet family I hadn't ever seen before, I guess. I got bug-eaten the first night I was there, though. Twenty bug bites, eighteen of which were on my lower legs and feet. I kid you not, I am like a freaking delicacy to the bugs here in the mid-west. What's more, I think I've developed a mild allergy to them because every time I get bit, I get a huge welt. Said welt goes away in short enough order, but I must say, it is rather unsightly. Fortunately, I can ignore my multitudinous bites, for the most part, and as long as I don't scratch them, they generally don't itch.

Anyhow, besides the fact that I am currently addicted to Asian drama shows (those interested are free to ask me for a most marvelous link), there really isn't much else to report. I'm not even gonna suggest that I might actually keep up with my blog - we'll just see what happens.

Later!
