J.O.M.S.

If all of my "syndromes" were actual ailments, I'd be in a pretty sorry state, I think. The condition that I wish to declare that I suffer from this time is JOMS or "Just One More" Syndrome. Think about it a bit and you'll know what I mean. Lots of people suffer from JOMS, whether it be telling yourself "just one more cookie, then I'll stop," or the irresistible urge to have just one more glimpse of your best friend's brother in the shower (I won't tell anyone).

My JOMS is currently exhibited in the way I am going through Asian dramas. It gets to be able later-than-stupid-o-clock in the morning, my bed has long since given up calling for me, and even study and/or workaholics have gone to sleep, but I'm still sitting in my chair watching as images flash across my computer screen, thinking, "After I finish this one, I'll go to bed." Problem is, "this one" ends, most usually in some sort of dreadful cliffhanger, and I desperately assure myself, "well, just one more, then I'll hit the sack. Stupid-o-clock already. It's not that late... huh? Was that a rooster?"

I'd like to say that when school starts back in and I know that I actually have to be intelligent in the morning that I'll curb this insatiable habit and go to bed at a (more) decent hour. However, I know myself a little too well to make such a statement so soon. My only other hope seems to be burn out, but with so many Asian dramas virtually at my fingertips, it would that I'd best be praying that common sense will actually kick in for once. Anyhow, I am off for the night (after one more episode, that is...).
