I got out of bed this morning at around 11 or so fully aware that there was but one thing at the top of my "To Do" list: work on my research paper. Let me tell you, there is no better way to get me to do everything else that I've been procrastinating on than to present me with a time-consuming homework protect that has to be done.
With my paper due on Tuesday and only this weekend, really, to work on it, I finally got around to doing the following: shaving my legs (it's been at least two weeks--hate doing it), cleaning the sink, washing my dishes (I was almost out of clean ones), putting away the rest of my clothes from doing laundry earlier in the week, eating breakfast, taking out my trash, putting away random papers into their appropriate slots in my file box, replying to reviewers on my fics, posting up chapter one of a new trick, allowing my best friend to totally rewrite (in a sense, literally) my intentions for the characters in said fic, eating dinner (whilst watching a Supernatural ep), and (last, but not least) writing the introduction to my paper. I can get a lot done when I don't want to do something. At least I have a thesis now, which means I've got the paper licked.
To take a momentary step back, I'm really excited about my lastest SN fic. I have all sorts of plans for the characters. As I mentioned, Ebbs totally changed my mind about one of the directions I had been intending for the characters to go. How did she change the mind of one so stubborn as myself? With this fic: HERE. I was delighted that she took such an interest in my OC. Flattered even, and I've grown fairly accustomed to her bias adoration of my writing. It was very well portrayed, I must say, though, I still find it a bit strange to be a fan of a fic of my fic--that hasn't even been written completely, no less. And for those who hopped over to read and are wondering who this Leslie Kane is, well, you're just gonna have to hop right on over to Supernaturalville.net and read it, now, aren't you? (Link in sidebar) The fic in progress is Not Everyone Trusts Paintings, the title borrowed from the quote by Ansel Adams, "Not everyone trusts paintings, but people believe photographs."
Give it a read if you get the chance--hopefully it will be half as good as it is fun to write.
And now... *sigh* back to my paper. >.-
